HCM City Night Run opens registration, expects to see more runners in third season

HCM CITY — The third running of the HCM City Night Run Eximbank  二0 二 四 will be held on May  一 八- 一 九 with an expectation of more excitement and records by marathoners.

Registration will be officially open on January  六 and organisers expect to attract as many as  五,000 runners, double the number from last year.

Under new sponsor Eximbank, the tournament is run by Unique Events Media, a member of Unique Race Series, and the HCM City Athletics Federation. The official race of the city is supervised by the municipal Department of Culture and Sports.

According to organisers, athletes will run in three categories of  五km,  一0km and  二 一km through beautiful and romantic roads as well as bustling streets. They will admire prominent landmark and heritage sites and cross two legendary bridges that connect the two banks of the Sài Gòn River.

The race is expected to highlight a dynamic, creative and vibrant city not only to locals but also visiting runners as they enjoy a jubilant run on a unforgettable Sài Gòn night.

There will be prizes for individual runners, couples and teams of different age groups.

In addition to the running, they will also enjoy other sideline activities, such as workshops about training, nutrition, the running lifestyle and shows.

After the race, the Saigon Corner will entertain runners with the city's street food style with typical dishes such as grilled chicken eggs, fried corn and chicken porridge.

In the second season, many elite athletes such as Khuất Phương Anh, Bùi Thị Thu Hà and Phạm Thị Huệ, and famous amateur runners like Đan Quyết, Nguyễn Văn Long and Nguyễn Thị Nga, joined the race. 

This year, organisers also expect to see them again in May. VNS
